At KBC 2018, JOMOO's stand showing passion for intelligence and future living has attracted much attention from visitors. This distinguished stand is designed by Paolo Cesaretti, a famous Italian architect, as the second collaboration with JOMOO.

Earlier this year, we had a short talk with Paolo Cesaretti about the design inspiration of JOMOO's stand at KBC 2018 and how his team delivers the accessible experience to visitors through this practice. He also shared his opinion of kitchen and bathroom space.

Q1: Why do you choose to work with JOMOO?

Paolo: What I found very interesting is JOMOO's strength in the technology research, that’s why JOMOO is unique for me. Also, I was really impressed by the attitude of Mr.Lin, JOMOO's president — his attitude to discover, find and push good design is very challenging, very rewarding.

Q2: What's the main concept you've given to JOMOO's stand design for 2018 KBC?

Paolo: We consider any design space as some basic rules. For example, if you go into a church, you act and feel in some ways; When you go to the disco, you act and feel in another way. This is a sort of rules in the space. The user is already prepared to experience it when he gets inside the space. So we are trying to analyze people's experience, to create the surprise and unexpected elements. The very important result we wanna achieve is the memory of the experience. So if the users have the good or strong memory of this experience, feels like it will bring these all alive.

We wanna achieve

the memory of the experience.

Paolo: This year we want to do something different, something more focused on the user, so we can change the experience memorable for the user step inside the stand. That's why we designed the sort of an abstract wonderland where the visitor should be, in some way, amazed by what will be discovered inside the stand. I think the project is very good. It’s one of my best projects actually.

For the design of JOMOO's stand at KBC 2018, Paolo invites 3 natural colors and redefines them with JOMOO's concept: Green for health; Light Blue for simple; and Light Purple standing for smart and future. What's more, the shape of each element follows natural factor like the water drop, rain, bamboo, or crystal... When these design ideas meet JOMOO's intelligent and hygienic products, a natural hi-tech space shows up.

Just like Paolo expected, this special stand did amaze the visitors. It embraced thousands of guests during the exhibition, being a highlight at KBC 2018.

Q3: In your opinion, what is the relationship between "Home & Human" and "Bathroom & Kitchen Space"?

Paolo: Home is a cultural basic feature of the human. In Italian as well as in Spanish, "casa" means home. It’s a quite international word, meaning the domestic environment, but also something more, like your country, somewhere or somebody you belong to. And kitchens and bathrooms are the basic parts of a home. You can find a home without bedroom because you can sleep in the living room. But you cannot find a home without bathroom and kitchen. Because they are to satisfy our basic needs.

It's interesting that design is starting to work seriously on these two topics for at least 20 years. The designer starts to get succeed on these two topics. In the western market, we have released the evolution on the kitchen and bathroom. Now it seems that the evolution is shifting from the western to the eastern countries.
