The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Pension Towers has been officially opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday, May 26, four years since its construction started.

It is the 5th JOMOO project in Kenya, for which JOMOO has supplied a wide range of sanitary ware, including ceramic products, bathroom fittings and hardware.

The CBK Pension Towers is a 27-storey building with six basement levels, office suits and retail apartments for private tenants. It is made up of two shiny sky blue glass towers facing opposite directions which is fitted with solar panels to generate its own clean energy.

The skyscraper is located along Harambee Avenue in Nairobi and was designed by Kenyan architects under Arprim Consultants.

"This building is the coolest and most modern building in the CBD and Nairobi today. I am happy to tell you that Kenyans are creative and can design such an iconic building which has even been featured in China as one of the most ultra-modern buildings in Africa," the Pension Fund chairman Dominic Mwenja said.

“For that, we are grateful to the team that did this. We have incorporated in this building a fantastic viewing section so that you can have the entire view of the whole county,” stated Mwenja.

Mwenja revealed that the towers represent two retired with the Pension Fund, and the CBK in between as the anchor and support of the retirees. The building was also designed to host a currency museum and conference among other support facilities.

JOMOO has cooperated with more than 15.000 projects worldwide, providing sanitary ware to public places like airports, train stations, libraries, museums, business centers, 5-star hotels, and luxury residences.
